Manouch Amel 
Owner & Practicing Kinesiologist

Manouch has owned and operated Mountainview Kinesiology since 1999. In 2011, he opened Mountainview Health and Wellness to help address patient needs in New Westminster, Surrey and Burnaby.

As a practicing Kinesiologist he is a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). He completed his Bachelor Degree in Applied Science (Kinesiology) at Simon Fraser University in 1996. Manouch has obtained a number of different certifications, namely his CSCS (Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist) and NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program).

Manouch is also an EPIC Evaluator which is a progressive test of lift capacity, specifically to evaluate persons with medical impairments. As well, he is a Functional Capacity Evaluator which provides Clinical Rehabilitation and Return to Work Programs. This process includes Ergonomics as well as Disability Management and Case Coordination.

Manouch has further specialized in motor vehicle accidents (MVA), Aqua Therapy, Core Stabilization and Strength/Weight Training.

Naomi Gilligan
Practicing Kinesiologist

Naomi graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science (Kinesiology) at Simon Fraser University, along with a certification in Health and Fitness. As a registered kinesiologist, she is a member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK). Naomi is also a certified weight trainer as a member of the British Columbia Parks and Recreation Association (BCRPA). She has additional training in consistency and effectiveness in rehabilitation, soft tissue release, and kinesio taping. Naomi specializes in rehabilitation from motor vehicle accidents, work and sports injuries, as well as personal training, and exercise prescription to promote mental health.

 Naomi is an enthusiast for the active lifestyle, engaging in various activities and sports such as running, weight training, hiking, bicycling, soccer, skiing, and beach volleyball. She also works as a sports trainer for men’s lacrosse teams, focusing on injury prevention, sports aid, injury rehabilitation, and fitness training.

 Naomi is an avid learner who seeks ongoing skill development training to further enhance rehabilitation success with all her clients. She believes that physical and mental wellness comes from balancing all aspects of life, and by taking a proactive ‘in-charge’ approach to making lifestyle choices for oneself that create a healthy and happy life.“Life is not about finding yourself. Ezra graduated from Simon Fraser University with a major in Kinesiology, and currently leads fourth year kinesiology students in tutorials. His drive to educate students and help people through kinesiology make him an inspiring practitioner in the field. This aspiration is evident through his love for sports from being the trainer for the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs to being a tennis coach.

Melinda graduated with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology (BSc.) at the University of Alberta in 2013. She is also a practicing member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK), along with certifications with kinesio tape, myofascial release, and functional movement skills (youth).  As a healthcare professional, Melinda specializes on motor vehicle accidents and uses techniquess such as myofascial release, aqua therapy, and exercise prescription to get individuals back to a healthy lifestyle.

Melinda is an advocate for health promotion and has worked with the University of Alberta in hosting health seminars and speaker series about liver health and active living.  She also had the opportunity to be a race director for Start2Finish, a non profit organization, focusing on running and reading for underprivileged youth. She enjoys playing recreational sports including dodgeball, ball hockey, and outdoor running.

Roksana is a Registered Practicing Kinesiologist with British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists.  She has more than 15 years of teaching experience as a full time Faculty Member of University.  She has a Master of Arts in Physical Education - Sport Sciences, Azad University, Tehran, Iran.  Regarding professional development, she obtained following certificates:

  • Clinical Application of Therapeutic Ultrasound in Rehabilitation and Sport Injuries (BACK)

Cara Oliver
Practicing Kinesiologist
Cara  is a practicing Kinesiologist member of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK ). Since completing her Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science (Kinesiology) at Simon Fraser University in May of 2000, Cara has specialized in motor vehicle accidents (MVA), Return to Work programs, Aqua Therapy, Core Stabilization and Strength/Weight Training programs. She has taken numerous core stability and muscle imbalance courses and is certified as a Functional Capacity Evaluator (ARCON).  Additionally, she has experience volunteering in sports medicine  and Healthy Heart-clinics. Cara continually upgrades through workshops and  frequently reviews literature detailing new developments in kinesiology. Cara is a dynamic, caring professional with practical/achievable solutions to educate, support and empower individuals in health care prevention, rehabilitation and healthy lifestyle choices.  Cara leads a healthy and active lifestyle that includes jogging, weight training and aerobics workouts.

Debbie Wong

Debbie is a practicing kinesiologist of the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in 2016, concentrating in Active Health and Rehabilitation. She has received certifications in musculoskeletal assessments, soft tissue release and Kinesiotaping to further assist her clients on the road to recovery. Debbie specializes in rehabilitation from motor vehicle accidents , work conditioning programs as well as working with those with cardiovascular disease.
Debbie enjoys participating and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. She has worked with SFU Recreation to promote active living in the community and engages in recreational activities such as hiking, badminton, volleyball and dodgeball. In the past, she has also volunteered as a Cardiac Rehabilitation Assistant with Fraser Health to assist post-surgical cardiac patients increase their cardiovascular function and physical capabilities through exercise.

Naser has been a Physiotherapist in Iran since 1995. Naser received his Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physical Therapy/Therapist at The Medical University of Iran in 1993. He has worked in many hospitals and private clinics since then. He has helped many clients suffering from various musculoskeletal conditions including postural abnormalities, disorders of spine and extremities, and sport injuries. Since coming to Canada, Neser has become a Practicing Kinesiologist and is currently working with us. His extensive knowledge has helped many clients with their injuries, disabilities and pain.  He designs fitness and rehabilitation program according to patient’s needs and capacity. He gives ergonomic advice and posture correction training.

 

He speaks English and Farsi.

Maryam is a practicing kinesiologist and she has a Master’s Degree in Physical education with more than 15 years’ experience as a physical educator.  She possess strong supervisory skills with a hands-on and mentoring leadership style.  She is friendly with strong ability in communication skills & team work.  Her specialty is in Active Health and Fitness, Injury Rehabilitation/Exercise Therapy and Nutritional Consulting.
